I am no great fan of the old country style (the one where people were encouraged to sing and be singing, to feel proud and happy) but I would be happy to learn to sing a few simple tunes: “Crying” (a song we all used to sing when sad), “Goodbyes” (a song I remember from my childhood!) I have also thought of singing the opening to one of my favorite children’s books; “Tis Time For You To Go,” it has just the right amount of heart. And since my best friend is from New Zealand and we are both from the US, I might also sing a few of her favorites: “New Zealand” (a song we used to sing whenever we were in the country) “Goodbye, New Zealand” (a song we all used to sing when we were going our separate ways) and “I Love New Zealand.” If I have time, I may also try and learn a few songs from the children’s books at a later date.
If anyone can help me out with any of these, please let me know! If you find out where I can find a recording, please let me know! I would love to learn to do it as best as I can and I don’t like to spend too much time on it though so just help me with this first.
Thank you so much!! xox
As we enter the 2016 political campaign season, there’s been speculation about whether we’ll see a Republican nominee with a clear ideology or a more conservative opponent (in the sense of voting a particular way) – either more like Jeb Bush or George W. Bush in 2008 then Marco Rubio or Carly Fiorina in 2016.
Both those candidates seem to be the antitheses of the Republican Party’s current leadership: a more moderate, pragmatic type of presidential candidate, whereas Donald Trump, the controversial candidate that most voters don’t agree with, is likely to be a more extreme, hard-right type of Republican candidate.
It wasn’t the first time voters would be asked that question, but it’s become a very pertinent one. The first time we’ve seen a Republican debate as a political action committee – before a primary in Texas, Iowa or New Hampshire – was during the Republican primaries in 2015, and it didn’t go well. Both Trump and Jeb Bush dropped out of the race, and both were replaced with other candidates who weren’t necessarily more to their own right.
